While I never thought I would ever voluntarily write about politics, I need to make an exception. The attempts to “make a country great again”, such as Brexit and Trump’s politics are drawn on people’s fear of loss of possessions, jobs, and identities. However, they come at the expense of a sustainable future of humanity. No country can exist by itself, because we are all connected through our shared world. Only together “we can”.

As a society we are striving for equality. Yet, traditional hierarchical systems require us to respect people of higher status more than others. Limiting hierarchy to matters only concerning the job may be an important step on the way to equality.
